By December of 2008, the economy and the commercial real estate industry were deteriorating at a rapid pace and I knew that  I needed to prepare for a possible job loss. Now that you are familiar with online marketing you know the most popular blogging platform out there is Wordpress.  Wordpress is what’s known as a CMS  “content management system” platform.  It is by far the best application out there and best of all it is FREE.

The only drawback to Wordpress is that it is not quite so easy - even for people who have some html experience.  I was slightly familiar with Dreamweaver and I found it a bit difficult.  Good news is with each version of Wordpress it is becoming more user friendly.   Once you get the hang of Wordpress you will love it.

Part of the difficulty is figuring out how to edit a Wordpress blog.  By edit I mean, how to upload the right theme layout, monetize it and how to optimize it for the search engines.
